[ Most days, Dizzy would be happy to see her husband out and about, given he was usually up to his nose in paperwork on any given day.

But now, something seemed off. That resonance that told her from the moment they reunited that Ky was gradually transforming into a Gear?

Well, it was nearly overflowing out of him. And she could see he was covering his left eye, wincing in pain.

Time to act. ]

Ky? Are you alright?!

[ She takes off towards him, wings carrying her as fast as she reasonably could go. ]

[ He doesn't notice Dizzy at first, too focused on the pain of his eye to really respond. He knew the risks when taking the eye into his body, but he didn't expect it to be this painful.

When Dizzy does arrive, he looks up at her, clutching his head in pain. ]

Dizzy...?

Darling, what happened?

[ Well, she had an idea, given that the swapped eyes between her husband and son had not only prevented Sin's own strength from overtaking him, but had saved Ky's life not even a year earlier. But if the Gear cells were assimilating into his body so quickly...

He'd be in for unpredictable changes if he didn't learn to control his power.

And Dizzy would know, she'd only fairly recently been able to stop parts of her body from changing shape the moment she felt threatened. ]

Well, I ask that, but I think I know. I guess it's better to ask...

Do you feel anything changing?

[ The pain starts to subside, and he manages to collect himself enough to look at his wife with worried eyes. He didn't mean to scare her, and yet he knew he had to explain himself--

That was his thought, until Dizzy asked him that question. He sighs. He shouldn't have expected anything different from her, being a Gear herself. A hum escapes him as he tries to find out what exactly had changed. ]

I... am not sure, exactly. All I felt was a pain, and the power within me starting to go out of control.

Hmm... I suppose the best thing to do would be to get home, first. That way we can find a way to help you safely adjust to your power.

[ Really the best thing would be if Sol could help them, given he one: helped create Gears in the first place, and two: had the most experience in keeping a mostly human appearance.

But unfortunately he was off who-knows-where again, chasing after another target. All for the better really, since Ky was still beyond anxious at speaking to his now father-in-law.

But that's not to say Dizzy didn't have an idea of how some of his methods worked. ]

... perhaps it might even be best to learn how to unleash that power when you really need it. I don't doubt it'll be long before we get tangled in another conflict...

[ But such was life in their chaotic world.

Also she'd REALLY like for her husband to not have to get shot in order to use his newfound powers this time. ]

[ He raised an eyebrow at his wife's words. She was half Gear, so of course she'd have some knowledge on the subject, but to know that much about what he was going through?

It was moments like these that he knew he made a good choice in marrying her. A small smile spreads across his face as he nods. ]

It sounds like I might have to, given that it's only been recent that these surges have gone on. Quite frankly, I worry I won't be able to control it if it goes on like this.

[ By now the pain has subsided enough for him to stand up straight and start heading back home as she suggested. ]

So tell me, how am I supposed to go about controlling it?

Well, what I had in mind was letting you simply let that power loose somewhere safe enough that we wouldn't need to worry about collateral damage.

[ She hesitated slightly, knowing the memory was likely still rather fresh. ]

Perhaps that clearing where Father goaded you into taking him on seriously... it's still rather scorched from that, but it would be the safest place.

[ But just like that, her smile returned. ]

And you don't have to worry about your power overtaking you, I'll be there to snap you out of it with kisses if it tries to.

[ She has a point. He didn't like it, but she did have a point.

Plus, the incentive of being kissed was more than enough for him to take the chance. ]

I don't exactly like the idea of simply letting loose. However...

[ He couldn't exactly think of a better answer for his predicament. He used to slay Gears and now he's become one? What a twisted fate. ]

If you think it'll assist, then I will try. I think I remember the location.

[ Sensing his slight unease, she rests a wing on his shoulder. ]

It'll work out, I promise. Let's get going.

[ In this moment she truly hoped he could sense her emotions as readily as she did his. ]

[ His smile is warm when he feels Dizzy's wing on his shoulder. That alone is comfort enough. He wasn't truly alone in this, was he?

While he couldn't sense her emotions just yet, the gesture alone was more than enough to give Ky the confidence boost he needed in order to push forward. ]

Thank you, Dizzy. I don't know where I'd be without you.

[ She's downright buzzing with happiness. ]

Well, this is the place. I'll put up a barrier just in case your power might attract too much attention.

[ Something tells her if it's going to be anything like her father's technique, it'll cause a surge of energy. Possibly even enough to cause blackouts if they weren't careful. ]

Now... just let loose! Imagine your power is something you can pull out.

Are you sure about this, Dizzy? I know your barrier can withstand a lot, but I'm still unsure about all of this.

[ It's clear that even with the support of his wife, he's still scared. He knew why he took up this power, but he didn't expect it to be so volatile. It frightened him, for lack of a better term.

He kept his gaze on the ground to avoid showing her the fear that was splattered all over. He had to be strong for her, after all. ]

[ Someone still needs convincing.

She walks up to him and gives a gentle kiss, then retreats back to a safe distance. ]

I know you can do this. Once you master your new power, you'll be able to do even more to protect everyone.

I believe in you.

[ Ky eagerly returns the kiss, relieved that Dizzy was willing to stay by him regardless of what happens. ]

... Thank you, Dizzy. I'll try my best.

[ And with that, he breathes in, and lets go.

It was a surge of power he didn't expect. He thought it'd be a river. How wrong he was. ]

[ Dizzy staggers a bit from the explosive surge of power. Yet, she also feels strangely happy.

Some instinctive pride for her mate, perhaps?

But, also... ]

Oh! You... your appearance changed. Quite a bit.

[ Before, when Ky had tapped into his newfound power, his left eye simply glowed red.

But now in addition to that, much of the left side of his body appears inhuman, various parts now glowing as blue as his lightning.

He's actually gone and pulled off a Dragon Install. ]

Did I now?

[ He looks down at himself, only to flinch back at what he saw. His left arm had changed, and power flowed through him as easily as breathing. Eyes were wide with awe, and he could only wonder if this was the result of taking Gear cells into his body.

A small smile crossed his lips. He wondered if this was the power that would protect his family at all costs.

He turns to Dizzy. ]

I suppose I did. Is this similar to Sol’s Dragon Install..?

It seems to be! Ah, I'm proud of you!

[ Even with the risk of potentially getting hurt, Dizzy grins and dashes over to embrace her husband.

She hasn't felt this much pride since Sin was born. Before she realizes it, she's purring and nuzzling Ky's neck. ]

[ Ky lets out a yelp as he instinctively catches Dizzy. He laughs lightly, holding her close despite the power flowing through him. He lets go of the Dragon Install in order to hold her even closer, humming to himself.

He loved how supportive his wife is of him. He felt his heart about to burst. ]

Thank you, Dizzy... I don't think I would've been able to do it without your support.

[ She's still happily nuzzling him. ]

I'm so glad I could help you. It makes me eager to see where you go from here, love.

... Ah, we'd better get home now if we're to have dinner on time!

[ Even if it feels just a bit embarrassing, Ky returns the nuzzles for a moment. Just to let her know that he would be forever accepting.

And then she mentions dinner time. His stomach betrays him, growling loudly at the mention of food. He laughs nervously, his cheeks pink. ]

Yeah, let's hurry... I think I'm a bit peckish myself.
